Client Read-Through & Revision Control — Implementation (Real Time)
What You’ll Do in This Implementation Lesson
- Run a client read-through that builds trust and catches errors
- Capture revisions cleanly using a revision tracking sheet (no “random edits”)
- Confirm final approval in writing before delivery
In this implementation lesson, you’ll see the exact client read-through workflow professionals use: read out loud, pause for confirmation, log revisions, apply changes in one controlled pass, then capture final approval. This prevents confusion, protects accuracy, and improves the client experience.

Video coming next.
This lesson will demonstrate the full read-through + revision tracking + final approval workflow.
You’ll use: M4-04 Read-Aloud Client Review Script + M4-05 Revision Tracking Sheet + M4-06 Final Approval Confirmation Template.
Step-by-Step Workflow
- Open the Read-Aloud Client Review Script.
Start by setting the rule: you will read, the client stops you anytime something is inaccurate or unclear. - Read slowly and pause often.
Pause after each paragraph and ask: “Is this accurate?” “Is the date correct?” “Is this how you want it stated?” - Log every revision in the Revision Tracking Sheet.
Do not edit live in a chaotic way. Capture changes as entries: location, change requested, reason, status. - Confirm the high-risk items.
Names, dates, locations, key events, and any statement that could affect credibility. - Apply revisions in one controlled pass.
After the read-through, apply edits cleanly and update the draft version number. - Confirm final approval in writing.
Use the Final Approval Confirmation Template to document that the client approved the wording. - Mirror the final into the case file.
Save the approved final and the revision record locally with a date/version stamp.
What to Say During the Read-Through
Opening:
“Today we’re going to read this draft together. I’ll read it out loud, and you stop me any time something is inaccurate, unclear, or not how you want it stated.”
Final approval:
“If you’re comfortable with this wording and it’s accurate, we’ll treat this as the final version. If anything needs to be changed, we change it now.”
Non-Negotiable Rules
- Do not “email and hope.” Read-through beats guessing what the client will notice.
- Do not edit randomly. Log revisions, then apply them in one controlled pass.
- Do not skip approval. Capture approval in writing for the file.
- Always mirror. Save the final and revision record inside the case folder.
